Maite Dechering

Maite is passionate about creativity, connection, and working with young people. Growing up in Hawke’s Bay, she was immersed in theatre from a young age. Some of her favourite moments include performing in an audience-interactive show and directing her first production for the NZ TheatreFest — an experience that sparked a love for leadership and storytelling. She absolutely loves working with kids, who keep her on her toes and provide daily reminders of how magical learning and performing can be. Being part of something that children look forward to each week is, for Maite, a real privilege.
